The Sheriff’s Homicide Unit is investigating a fire that left two people dead in San Marcos.<\/p>\n
SAN MARCOS, Calif. \u2014 Two people were found dead after firefighters extinguished a fire at a two-story house in San Marcos, homicide investigators said Sunday.<\/p>\n
Deputies and firefighters responded to the 900 block of Lacebark Street at 11:45 p.m. Saturday, where the house was already engulfed in flames, the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office reported.<\/p>\n
“While working to put out the blaze, firefighters located two deceased individuals inside a second-floor room,” Lt. Juan Marquez said in a statement Sunday. “The San Marcos Fire Department requested the Sheriff’s Bomb\/Arson Unit to conduct a full investigation into the cause and origin of the fire. Detectives from the Sheriff’s Homicide Unit also responded to assist with the investigation.”<\/p>\n
The San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the identity of the deceased, as well as the cause and manner of death, according to Marquez.<\/p>\n
No other injuries were reported.<\/p>\n
