A man is in critical condition after he fell onto train tracks in downtown L.A. early Sunday, according to authorities. <\/p>\n

The incident occurred along the Metro A Line \u2013 also referred to as the Blue Line \u2013 just after 12:30 a.m. at the Chinatown station, the Los Angeles Fire Department said<\/a>. <\/p>\n

LAFD referred to the incident as having taken place along the \u201cGold Line,\u201d which is what the route used to be called before the Regional Connector tunnel opened in 2023<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Per the fire department, the man, who is 40 years old, was hospitalized in critical condition. <\/p>\n

All train traffic was stopped so crews could rescue the man but service resumed after the operation was completed.<\/p>\n

There was no indication as to what caused the man to fall onto the tracks.<\/p>\n

Metro\u2019s A Line is the longest light-rail line in the world<\/a>, serving 48 stations across more than 57 miles.<\/p>\n
