SAN DIEGO \u2013 No. 42 San Diego State women\u2019s tennis earned its fifth conference win on Sunday, taking down Air Force 4-1 at the Aztec Tennis Center to complete a three match home stand. The Aztecs improve to 13-3 overall and 5-1 in the Mountain West while the Falcons fall to 4-11 on the season and 4-2 in the league.<\/p>\n
The Aztecs got off to a hot start, capturing the doubles point with victories on the top two courts. No. 50 Jo-Yee Chan<\/a> and Vessa Turley<\/a> first defeated No. 81 Sofia Mavor and Abby Cotuna 6-2 on court one before Jayna Clemens<\/a> and Ninon Martinache<\/a> secured the point with a 6-3 win against Arianna Van Houweling and Shivaani Selvan on court two. Gloria Alogo<\/a> and Liisa Varul<\/a> trailed Maya Michalaski and Jariahlyn Rhoades 5-4 in the third spot when the point was earned.<\/p>\n In singles competition, Turley downed Rhoades 6-2, 6-2 on the sixth court to notch the team\u2019s second point.
