The City of Long Beach is accepting applications from groups that want to be included in the upcoming Long Beach Pride Parade on May 17.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Long Beach Pride Parade is a powerful expression of who we are as a city\u2014diverse, welcoming and united in celebrating one another,\u201d Mayor Rex Richardson said in a public statement. \u201cWe are proud to continue supporting an event that uplifts our vibrant and historic LGBTQ+ community and reflects the inclusive values that define our city.\u201d<\/p>\n

Organizations and businesses that want to have a float, vehicle or walk in the parade can submit an online application<\/a> on the City\u2019s website until May 4. Applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. There will be no fee to apply or participate in the parade.<\/p>\n

This 43rd annual event is expected to draw thousands of attendees from across the Los Angeles region. This also marks the third time in the event\u2019s history the city government will act as the official host for the parade.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Long Beach Pride Parade is an impactful reminder of the strength, resilience and beauty of our city\u2019s LGBTQ+ community,\u201d\u00a0 Second District Councilmember Cindy Allen said in a public statement. \u201cAs a mother of an LGBTQ+ daughter, this event is deeply meaningful to me. It is an honor to be able to keep supporting an event that brings our city and the region together in such a powerful way.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Long Beach Pride Parade will occur at the same time as the Long Beach Pride Festival, which is organized by the Long Beach Pride organization, on the weekend of May 16-17.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Long Beach allocated $50,000 in the Fiscal Year 2026 Budget \u201cto provide greater stability and consistency\u201d for the event. The Port of Long Beach is also providing another $50,000 in funding for the parade.<\/p>\n
