FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) — A man was shot and killed at a Northwest Fresno Starbucks parking lot Sunday evening and his killer is on the loose.<\/p>\n
Police say the deadly attack happened around 5:50 near Shaw and Dale Avenues, just east of Highway 99.<\/p>\n
“We heard multiple shots just bam, bam, bam, bam and we hit the ground because it was so close and loud and then it got quiet and a car sped off,” neighbor Ralph Graham recalled.<\/p>\n
Ralph Graham says he was working in his backyard when the shots rang out, just feet away from him.<\/p>\n
“I jumped over the fence to see if I could help him, but it was too late,” Graham stated.<\/p>\n
Police say the victim was shot in the chest.<\/p>\n
“To have something like this happen is very disheartening and sad,” Graham said.<\/p>\n
Despite medical aid, the man died from his injuries.<\/p>\n
“Very sad,” neighbor Rita said. “In fact, I was kind of nervous last night when I went to bed.”<\/p>\n
Rita says she had just finished a walk in the area with her husband when the shooting happened.<\/p>\n
“I thought ‘Thank God we didn’t get shot or anything,'” Rita said.<\/p>\n
She says she’s been living in the neighborhood since 1956.<\/p>\n
“It’s always been as far as I’m concerned a very good neighborhood. This is the very first time this has happened,” she added. “That was kind of scary.”<\/p>\n
Police have not released any additional information on the victim or suspect.<\/p>\n
