BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) \u2014 Former US House Representative Katie Porter will visit Bakersfield on Tuesday for a meet and greet with supporters as she continues her campaign for California governor.<\/p>\n
Porter will be in Bakersfield to visit with supporters and visitors on Tuesday afternoon.<\/p>\n
Bakersfield is the first of several scheduled stops in California as she campaigns for governor. Porter is scheduled to be in Hanford later Tuesday. Porter is also scheduled to make stops in the Central Coast on Friday.<\/p>\n

Click to learn more about KGET+ <\/a><\/p>\n Early in the campaign, Porter was the frontrunner<\/a> leading a pack of candidates that included Republicans Steve Hilton and Chad Bianco and Democrats Xavier Becerra, Antonio Villaraigosa, Tony Thurmond and Betty Yee.<\/p>\n But after two videos featuring Porter \u2014 one including Porter shouting at a staff member and another with a tense back-and-forth with a reporter \u2014 surfaced online and went viral, Porter was urged to drop out of the race.<\/p>\n Porter spoke with Inside California Politics host Nikki Laurenzo and said she \u201ccould have done better\u201d<\/a> in handling those situations.<\/p>\n Poll shows major reshuffling in California governor\u2019s race <\/a><\/p>\n In subsequent Emerson College polls<\/a>, Porter\u2019s support dropped each time. A March 11 poll showed Porter at 8% trailing Rep. Eric Swalwell and Republicans Steve Hilton and Chad Bianco.<\/p>\n The latest Emerson College poll showed 25% of poll respondents were undecided.<\/p>\n A Berkeley IGS poll showed Porter having support of 13% of likely voters.<\/p>\n The top two vote getters, regardless of party, would move on to the general election in California\u2019s electoral primary system.
