The daughter of Marcus Wesson has opened up about the horrific crimes her father committed against the rest of the family over many years.<\/p>\n

On March 12, 2004, officers responded to the Wesson family’s dilapidated home<\/a> in Fresno, California<\/a>, after the patriarch’s two nieces, who had fled from the property, attempted to reclaim their children. Wesson spoke with law enforcement at the front door but withdrew back into the residence, triggering an 80-minute standoff with police.<\/p>\n

Following Wesson’s surrender, authorities searched the property and discovered nine bodies<\/a>, each shot through the eye, with ages ranging from 1 to 25. Wesson’s surviving children later exposed the disturbing level of control he maintained over the family, promoting polygamy and incest.<\/p>\n

“I wished I could disappear, I didn’t want to exist,” said Wesson’s daughter, Gypsy. Wesson’s other daughter, Kiani, disclosed on a 2009 episode of Dr. Phil, that during the first two years following her father’s conviction, she could hardly eat or sleep, “but it does get better…counseling and talking to friends and loved ones” helps in the process.<\/p>\n

The ex-military man subjected his wife and her children to horrific abuse, including multiple children he had fathered. Wesson had been deployed to Vietnam, and soon after leaving the military, he entered into a relationship with Rosemary Solorio, relocating to her residence with her eight children.<\/p>\n

In 1971, Rosemary delivered Wesson’s son, and merely three years afterward, the depraved abuser began sexually assaulting his partner’s daughter, Elizabeth, who was only eight years old at that point. At age 14, when Wesson was 34, Elizabeth married him, and four months following the wedding, she delivered their first child.<\/p>\n

The pair had 10 children altogether, including one infant who died. Additionally, one of Elizabeth’s younger sisters entrusted her seven children to the couple’s custody, explaining that her struggles with drug addiction prevented her from parenting them.<\/p>\n

Wesson was a vicious husband and father. He declined to maintain employment and relied on government assistance and on the funds his children were compelled to gather and deliver straight to him.<\/p>\n

In 1989, he had been found guilty of welfare fraud and perjury, and the household was frequently compelled to inhabit deserted properties, dilapidated structures, and even boats. However, the most shocking events took place in private.<\/p>\n

Wesson inflicted severe abuse on his wife and children. He removed all parenting rights from Elizabeth and demanded that the whole family receive education at home. Wesson concocted his own perverse interpretation of scripture, asserting that Jesus was a vampire, and declared himself as God to his children. They were required to address him as Master or Lord, while the entire family was instructed to prepare for Armageddon.<\/p>\n

His daughters were informed they needed to prepare themselves to become his future wives, with their education including lessons on how to perform oral sex starting at the age of eight. Wesson sexually violated his two daughters and three nieces, resulting in all five becoming pregnant.<\/p>\n

The children’s daily chores included cleaning Wesson’s dreadlocks, armpits, and head, while siblings were prohibited from conversing with siblings of the opposite sex or even their own mother.<\/p>\n

In 2004, Wesson announced plans to relocate the entire family from Fresno, California<\/a>, to Washington, where his parents lived. In March of that year, members of his extended family, along with two nieces who had escaped the house of horrors, arrived demanding the release of the children.<\/p>\n

Police were called to what initially appeared to be a custody dispute, and upon arrival, Wesson instructed them to stay at the entrance before retreating into his home. When he reappeared, his clothes were soaked in blood.<\/p>\n

Despite their initial comment that they hadn’t heard any gunshots, officers were met with a gruesome sight when they entered the property. Nine bodies were discovered in a bedroom filled with antique coffins, each victim shot directly through the eye.<\/p>\n

All of his victims – daughter Sebhrenah April Wesson, 25, daughter Elizabeth Breahi Kina Wesson, age 17, daughter and granddaughter Illabelle Carrie Wesson, eight, daughter and grand-niece Aviv Dominique Wesson, seven, son and grand-nephew Johnathon St Charles Wesson, seven, son and grand-nephew Ethan St Laurent Wesson, four, son and grandson Marshey St Christopher Wesson, one, daughter and granddaughter Jeva St Vladensvspry Wesson, one, and daughter and grand-niece Sedona Vadra Wesson, one – were his own children.<\/p>\n

For Jerry Dyer, the current Mayor of Fresno and its former police chief, the scene remains deeply disturbing. “It was just horrific, the worst mass murder that we had experienced in the history of our city, and it wasn’t just the fact that nine people were killed, it was how they were killed, the lifestyle that was occurring in that household. Marcus Wesson convinced his family that he was God, that Jesus was a vampire.”<\/p>\n

Defense attorney Ralph Torres is another individual still wrestling with the chilling memories of the crime. He was a member of the court-appointed defense team for Wesson.<\/p>\n

He revealed that in his extensive 34-year career, this is the one case that will forever haunt him. Torres recalled: “I see all the evidence, it was the most gut-wrenching part of the case where I was just a young father. I had a 5-year-old young boy, and there was a boy that looked from behind, like my kid.<\/p>\n

“It was life-changing; I’ve never seen anything like it. I’ve done 16 murder trials since then, and there is nothing like it.”<\/p>\n

ABC 30 reported that the house where the murders occurred has been demolished, leaving only an empty dirt lot behind. “There’s no way that that property could have existed or continued to exist without bringing back horrible memories, and property values would have been devalued,” Dyer said.<\/p>\n

Now at the age of 79, Wesson continues to serve time at San Quentin Rehabilitation Center following his death sentence conviction on June 17, 2005. He is no longer facing execution after Governor Newsom put a stop to capital punishment in California in 2019 and later abolished death row.<\/p>\n

However, for Dyer, who visited Wesson in prison in 2008, the frustration remains over the fact that he’s still alive. “Marcus Wesson was an evil person. He is somebody, as I said then to national media, he deserved the death penalty then, and he deserves the death penalty today.
