Authorities reached out to the public Wednesday for help in identifying a man who shot a pistol into a crowded courtyard at a Spring Valley apartment complex late last summer, wounding two minors.<\/p>\n
The assailant opened fire with a 9mm handgun at the residential complex in the 1600 block of Canyon Road shortly before 1:30 a.m. on Sept. 21, according to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office.<\/p>\n
“The suspect shot approximately four times at the crowd, which resulted in two juveniles being struck by gunfire,” sheriff’s Detective Donald Frank said. “Additionally, a bullet entered a nearby apartment, striking a couch. Both juveniles were treated at a hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.”<\/p>\n
A surveillance camera captured images of the shooter, who was dressed in dark pants, a gray hooded sweatshirt and white sneakers.<\/p>\n
Anyone with information about the case was asked to call San Diego County Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477 or contact the agency online at sdcrimestoppers.org.
