{"id":247835,"date":"2026-04-02T03:42:12","date_gmt":"2026-04-02T03:42:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/247835\/"},"modified":"2026-04-02T03:42:12","modified_gmt":"2026-04-02T03:42:12","slug":"rams-puka-nacua-went-to-rehab-before-being-sued-attorney-says-nbc-los-angeles","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/247835\/","title":{"rendered":"Rams\u2019 Puka Nacua went to rehab before being sued, attorney says \u2013 NBC Los Angeles"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbclosangeles.com\/tag\/los-angeles-rams\/\" data-type=\"post_tag\" data-id=\"804010\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Los Angeles Rams<\/a>\u00a0All-Pro\u00a0wide receiver\u00a0Puka Nacua\u00a0is in rehab and was there before he was sued for assault and battery by a woman who says he made an antisemitic statement and bit her on the shoulder on New Year&#8217;s Eve, according to his attorney.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe was in (rehab) a substantial period of time before any of these allegations broke &#8230; and he\u2019s scheduled to be there for a while longer,\u201d Levi McCathern told The California Post.<\/p>\n<p>McCathern told the newspaper Nacua&#8217;s decision to enter rehab was not a direct response to the lawsuit his accuser filed against him late last month, but an attempt \u201cto improve his overall behavior in every aspect of his life.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Nacua\u00a0issued an apology last December\u00a0after performing a gesture that plays upon antisemitic tropes while appearing on an internet livestream.<\/p>\n<p>Nacua has been one of the most productive receivers in NFL history over his first three seasons with the Rams, who drafted him in the fifth round out of BYU in 2023.
