A man was fatally shot in Long Beach, police announced Friday.<\/p>\n
Officers were dispatched around 9:45 p.m. Thursday to the 5300 block of Cherry Avenue, two blocks south of Market Street, regarding shots fired, according to the Long Beach Police Department.<\/p>\n
The victim was located by the responding officers suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body and was immediately rendered medical aid until the arrival of Long Beach Fire Department paramedics, who took the man to a hospital where he later died.<\/p>\n
Detectives have not determined the motive for the shooting.<\/p>\n
The victim\u2019s name was being withheld pending notification of relatives.<\/p>\n
