Long Beach police traffic investigators sought information from the public Thursday about a crash that killed a woman who was on foot outside of a crosswalk when she was struck by a vehicle and died at a hospital.<\/p>\n
The crash was reported about 3:55 a.m. Sunday. Officers were dispatched to the area of Ninth Street and Fashion Avenue and when they got on scene Long Beach Fire Department personnel were rendering medical aid to the woman, police said.<\/p>\n
The woman was taken to a hospital, where she died from her injuries, according to the Long Beach Police Department, whose officials said they were informed of the fatality on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe preliminary investigation indicates a white Toyota Tacoma was traveling westbound on Ninth Street when it struck a pedestrian in the roadway outside of a crosswalk,\u201d according to an LBPD statement. \u201cThe Toyota Tacoma fled the scene.\u201d<\/p>\n
The dead woman\u2019s name was withheld pending notification of her next of kin.<\/p>\n
