{"id":249101,"date":"2026-04-02T22:16:14","date_gmt":"2026-04-02T22:16:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/249101\/"},"modified":"2026-04-02T22:16:14","modified_gmt":"2026-04-02T22:16:14","slug":"homicide-suspect-mistakenly-released-from-california-jail-re-arrested-after-5-months","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/249101\/","title":{"rendered":"Homicide suspect mistakenly released from California jail re-arrested after 5 months"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Five months after being mistakenly released from a jail in the San Francisco Bay Area, a man suspected in a deadly shooting in Washington state has been arrested.<\/p>\n<p>According to authorities, the U.S. Marshals Service located <a href=\"https:\/\/spdblotter.seattle.gov\/2026\/04\/01\/u-s-marshals-arrest-seattle-homicide-suspect-mistakenly-released-from-ca-jail\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">20-year-old Isaiah Andrews<\/a> in St. Louis, Missouri on Wednesday. Andrews, who is from Seattle, Washington suburb of Kent, was taken into custody without incident.<\/p>\n<p>Andrews was wanted by police in Seattle where he is suspected of fatally shooting 20-year-old Theodore Wheeler outside a hotel on Oct. 15, 2025. Three days after the shooting, Andrews was located by authorities in Contra Costa County and was arrested in Antioch following a pursuit.<\/p>\n<p>Along with the warrant for homicide, Andrews was also being held on local charges and a juvenile warrant out of Sacramento. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>      <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/isaiah-jamon-andrews-102725.jpg#.jpeg\" alt=\"isaiah-jamon-andrews-102725.jpg \" height=\"349\" width=\"620\" class=\" lazyload\"  loading=\"lazy\"\/><\/p>\n<p>                  Isaiah Jamon Andrews, who was released out of the Martinez Detention Facility in Contra Costa County on Oct. 22, 2025. Andrews was held on local charges, a juvenile warrant out of Sacramento and an out-of-state warrant for homicide.<\/p>\n<p>                Contra Costa County Sheriff&#8217;s Office<\/p>\n<p>On Oct. 22, Andrews <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/sanfrancisco\/news\/contra-costa-sheriff-searching-murder-suspect-apparently-released-by-mistake\/\" data-invalid-url-rewritten-http=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">was mistakenly released<\/a> from the Martinez Detention Facility. Deputies at the time said they launched a search of the immediate area after realizing Andrews was released but were not able to find him.<\/p>\n<p>Additional details about Andrews&#8217; arrest were not immediately available.
