Pop star Lizzo<\/a> was dismissed from jury duty in Los Angeles for expressing anti-ICE views<\/a> while being considered for a case about an assault on a federal immigration enforcement agent, The Post has learned.<\/p>\n

The R&B singer \u2014 who posted on Instagram about her outfit during the trip to federal court \u2014 acknowledged to prosecutors that she could be \u201cneither fair nor impartial\u201d hearing a trial of a man accused of assaulting an ICE agent<\/a>, a spokesman for the US Attorney\u2019s Officer said.<\/p>\n

The Grammy winner<\/a> had been considered for the case of Luis Dalhet Hipolito, who was charged with a felony count of assault on a federal officer resulting in bodily injury.<\/p>\n

Prosecutors said Hipolito hit an ICE agent in the face during a June immigration enforcement action<\/a> in Los Angeles, breaking the agent\u2019s glasses and cutting his face. He was acquitted of the charges on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

On Instagram, Lizzo shared a post to her nearly 11.5 million followers showing off her \u201cjury duty fit\u201d from what looked to be a courthouse bathroom, as well as a photo of her posing in front of the courthouse in downtown Los Angeles<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cOK, the jacket is Saint Laurent, the top is Yitty, the pants are custom Sami Miro, the necklace is Chanel, and the shoes are Louis Vuitton,\u201d she said in the clip.<\/p>\n

The musician, real name Melissa Viviane Jefferson, has been an outspoken critic of ICE.<\/p>\n

In a video posted in January to her social media accounts, she addressed political upheaval around immigration enforcement actions in Minneapolis, where she lived for roughly six years starting around 2011.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy heart goes out to Minneapolis,\u201d said Lizzo, as she choked back tears on the video.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn the years that I lived there, whether it was Philando Castile, whether it was Jamar Clark, whether it was George Floyd, this seems to happen \u2014 the injustice happens there,\u201d she added. \u201cIf I find more ways to help, I will be sharing them.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

Reps for Lizzo didn\u2019t immediately respond to requests for comment.<\/p>\n
