The toothless man was white, about 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighed roughly 112 pounds and had long gray hair that matched his beard and mustache. He had no tattoos.\u00a0<\/p>\n
But not much else is known about him, except for where and when he was found dead nearly 37 years ago.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Now, the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner\u2019s office is asking the public to help identify him and find his family.\u00a0<\/p>\n
He was found in a \u201cmoderate state of decomposition\u201d on\u00a0Aug. 8, 1989, behind what was then an auto body shop located at 150 Bellevue Ave. in San Jose, not far from Monterey Road.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Authorities believe, but were unable to confirm, that he was likely unhoused.\u00a0<\/p>\n
An autopsy found he had a craniotomy, healed fractures to his fifth and sixth rib and a cyst on the right side of his neck.\u00a0<\/p>\n
On the day he was discovered, he wore a brown plaid shirt, a dark blue T-shirt and white socks. He also had a long, light blue quilted coat, a quilted dark blue jacket, a pair of jeans and a second pair of dark pants, a hat with the word \u201cReno\u201d on the front and brown shoes.\u00a0<\/p>\n
