To begin the match, Cal jumped out to a 1-0 lead after doubles wins on courts one and two. On court two, Fryderyk Lechno-Wasiutynski<\/a> and Tiago Silva<\/a> won 6-3. Meanwhile, teammates Alex Aney<\/a> and Timofey Stepanov<\/a> clinched the doubles point with a 6-2 victory over No.11 Borisiouk\/Leroux. Aney and Stepanov’s win marked Stepanov’s 100th collegiate win.<\/p>\n In singles play against the Wolfpack, Lenn Luemkemann<\/a> lost 6-2, 6-1 on court six to give NC State their first point of the day. However, Bernardo Munk Mesa<\/a> secured the Bears’ second point of the day with a 7-6(2), 6-0 straight-set victory on court four. Next, on court two, Timofey Stepanov<\/a> inched Cal closer to a match victory after he won in straight-sets 6-2, 6-4. Finally, on court one, sophomore Fryderyk Lechno-Wasiutynski<\/a> upsets No. 21 Martin Borisiouk 6-4, 6-3 to clinch the victory for the Bears.
