LA JOLLA, Calif. \u2013 With a small group of Catamounts making the trip to Southern California for the Triton Invitational, Emma Wapshare<\/a> in the women’s javelin and Nate Wanger<\/a> in the men’s 200 dash both set personal bests on Friday and moved up in the Vermont record book. \n\tEmma Wapshare<\/a> snared a podium finish with her career best throw in the women’s Javelin throw. Her 47.82m toss gave her a third-place result and moved her into third all-time in Catamount history.
\n\tIn the men’s 200 dash Nate Wanger<\/a> clocked a 22.03 for a personal best time, ahead of his Indoor times from the winter season. He finished 35th overall for the event and moved into sixth fastest all-time on the Vermont Outdoor list.
\n\tBella Fryer collected a fourth-place finish in the women’s 5000m. She posted a 17:20.69 to grab a top five in a field of 31 participants.
\n\tIn evening action from California, the Catamounts made their mark in the 10000m. Caroline Deiss<\/a> (35:43.29) and Siena Stanley<\/a> (36:48.41) finished 1-2 in the event for Vermont. It was a collegiate best time for Deiss and Stanley’s first time competing in the event.
\n\tOn the men’s side Thomas Wolfe was the Catamounts top finisher placing third overall in a time of 31:31.02. His classmate Will Locke placed fourth, finishing 1.26 seconds later.

\nVermont continues the Triton Invitational on Saturday with events starting at 9 a.m. local time in California. The Jim Boulanger Invitational hosted by UNH begins at 11 a.m. on Saturday.
