Results<\/a><\/p>\n STANFORD, Calif. <\/p>\n – Three Colorado School of Mines records fell as the Orediggers’ distance stars opened their outdoor season at the Stanford Invitational Friday night.<\/p>\n Jenna Ramsey-Rutledge<\/a> reset her RMAC and Mines records running the #2 10,000m time in NCAA Division II history, Emily LaMena<\/a> lowered her program steeplechase standard, and Grace Strongman<\/a> shattered her Mines 1,500m record to lead a night of fast results.<\/p>\n Ramsey-Rutledge, running for the first time this year with only a season of outdoor track eligibility left, had one of her strongest runs yet in a decorated career with her 32:24.23 time in the Invitational 10,000m. Running against the nation’s elite in a race that saw BYU’s Jane Hedengren set a new collegiate record, Ramsey-Rutledge lowered her own personal best by nearly seven seconds to take the early national lead. The redshirt senior now owns the #2 and #3 10K performances in D-II history.<\/p>\n LaMena and Strongman started the meet off with back-to-back program records as they reset their marks in the 3,000m steeplechase and 1,500m, respectively, that they set at last year’s Stanford Invitational. LaMena powered to a 10:14.67 steeplechase time, nearly seven seconds below her 10:21.58 previous best. An hour later, Strongman slashed four seconds off her personal best in the 1,500m with a time of 4:18.63, improving on 4:22.68 from last season.<\/p>\n Coming off his NCAA silver medal indoors at the distance, Dawson Gunn<\/a> ran a strong 13:36.23 5,000m time – his personal best – for the second-best outdoor time in Mines history. Gunn improved his outdoor best in the event by 16 seconds as he ran the #15 performance in NCAA Division II history.\u00a0<\/p>\n
