Answers will be published each week.<\/p>\n<p>District 4 covers the area from 19th Avenue to Ocean Beach, Golden Gate Park to Lakeshore. It includes the Sunset, Parkside and Lakeshore neighborhoods.<\/p>\n<p>Mission Local is hosting a free District 4 candidates forum on April 29 at the Ortega Branch library. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eventbrite.com\/e\/mission-local-presents-the-district-4-candidates-forum-tickets-1985945869556?aff=ebdssbdestsearch\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">RSVP here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>A month before <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sf.gov\/june-2-2026-consolidated-statewide-direct-primary-election\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">ballots drop<\/a>, voters in District 4 not only have to decide who to vote for as supervisor in June, but also who they want to represent them in Congress.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>This week, we asked the District 4 candidates: Who do you support for California\u2019s District 11 congressional seat? Why? \u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Everyone who gave an answer \u2014 three of the five candidates \u2014 said they support Connie Chan, the District 1 supervisor and the only Chinese American candidate in the race. <\/p>\n<p>They cited her past record of advocating for the <a href=\"https:\/\/missionlocal.org\/2026\/02\/chinatown-immigrant-billionaire-sf-connie-chan-congress\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Chinese community<\/a>, pushing <a href=\"https:\/\/missionlocal.org\/2025\/11\/sf-upzoning-housing-amendments\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">amendments<\/a> to the mayor\u2019s upzoning plan, and her hard-fought <a href=\"https:\/\/missionlocal.org\/2024\/11\/district-1-supervisor-connie-chan-poised-to-win-reelection\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">victory<\/a> in 2024 when she defeated challenger Marjan Philhour.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Two candidates, Alan Wong and David Lee, said they still haven\u2019t decided on who to support yet, the same answer as when they were asked this question at a candidate <a href=\"https:\/\/missionlocal.org\/2026\/03\/sf-sunset-district-4-candidates-controversy\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">forum<\/a> a month ago.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"640\" height=\"640\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/Chow-640x640.png\" alt=\"Cartoon illustration of a man with short gray hair, glasses, and a suit with a tie, smiling against a blue circular background.\" class=\"wp-image-835688\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>Albert Chow<\/p>\n<p>Job: Owner of Great Wall Hardware, president of People of Parkside Sunset<\/p>\n<p>Age: 59<\/p>\n<p>Residency: Homeowner, living in District 4 since 1978\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Transportation: Driving and walking<\/p>\n<p>Education: Bachelor\u2019s degree from the University of California, Berkeley<\/p>\n<p>Languages: English, semi-fluent in Cantonese<\/p>\n<p>I am supporting Connie Chan. Connie has the exact skills needed to fight for our San Francisco values and stand up to the Trump regime. She has been a champion for our city, especially on issues affecting the Chinese community and the Westside of San Francisco. <\/p>\n<p>She has stood with us through many battles and works hard every day to deliver results for working people. I don\u2019t agree with her on everything \u2014 she opposes Sunset Dunes \u2014 but she\u2019s focused on tenant protections, pushed amendments to the city\u2019s upzoning plan to avoid demolition and displacement, and co\u2011sponsored tenant\u2011supportive measures like the \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sf.gov\/news--new-legislation-tenant-organizing-and-tenant-associations\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Union\u2011At\u2011Home<\/a>\u201d ordinance. <\/p>\n<p>She has backed programs to help families and supported exploring a city public bank.
