The Atlanta Braves<\/a> swung a trade with the Los Angeles Angels<\/a> on Friday.<\/p>\n

According to announcements from both clubs, the Braves acquired right-hander Victor Mederos from the Angels in exchange for international bonus pool space.<\/p>\n

“Neither club specified the amount of pool space that is changing hands, but, by rule, it must be in increments of $250K,” Darragh McDonald of MLB Trade Rumors<\/a> wrote this afternoon.<\/p>\n

Mederos, 24, was designated for assignment by Los Angeles a few days ago and made his Major League debut with the AL West club in 2023. He’s thrown just 25.1 innings since then, spending most of his time at Triple-A.<\/p>\n

Speaking of Triple-A, Atlanta sent Mederos to Triple-A Gwinnett following the trade. The Braves could use him later this season if a handful of relievers hit the injured list, but there are many members of the bullpen ahead of him on the depth chart.<\/p>\n

He was a sixth-round draft pick out of Oklahoma State University<\/a> in 2022 and averaged 94.6 mph on his fastball in 2025.<\/p>\n
