Police blocked off a portion of the sidewalk after a man was stabbed in Fresno, California.<\/p>\n

A 42-year-old man was stabbed during a robbery Friday night in Fresno.<\/p>\n
Fresno Police Lt. Justin Hoagland said officers responded to a call just before midnight near the intersection of Shields and Valentine avenues.<\/p>\n
The victim told police he was walking home in the area when two unknown men approached him on the sidewalk.<\/p>\n
During the encounter, the suspects allegedly forcibly took the man\u2019s personal belongings.<\/p>\n
At some point in the altercation, one of the suspects produced a knife and stabbed the victim in the thigh. The man then stopped resisting and fell to the ground, Hoagland said.<\/p>\n
The two suspects took additional property and fled the scene on foot, heading northbound from the intersection.<\/p>\n
Police described the suspects only as two men wearing dark clothing. No further descriptions have been released as the investigation remains ongoing.<\/p>\n
The victim was transported to the hospital and is listed in stable condition.<\/p>\n
Officers canvassed the area for surveillance footage. Some items believed to belong to the victim were found at the scene, dropped during the struggle, Hoagland said.<\/p>\n
