Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Pascagoula<\/a>). They blew past the Long Beach Bearcats<\/a> 19-3 on Saturday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Panthers considering their two-run performance the game before.<\/p>\n Braylen Knowles<\/a> made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn’t given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two runs and two RBI. Those two runs gave him a new career-high.<\/p>\n In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Niko Salvador<\/a>, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. That’s the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Owen Estroso<\/a> was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs and two RBI.<\/p>\n Pascagoula always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .619. That’s the best OBP they’ve posted all season.<\/p>\n Pascagoula’s victory ended a nine-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-14-1. As for Long Beach, they have been struggling recently as they’ve lost ten of their last 11 contests. That’s put a noticeable dent in their 4-18 record this season.<\/p>\n We’ve got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Pascagoula is set to take on their familiar foe Pearl River Central at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Long Beach will face off against rival Gautier at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
