The mural appeared<a href=\"https:\/\/bakersfieldnow.com\/news\/local\/cesar-chavez-mural-appears-in-downtown-bakersfield\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"https:\/\/bakersfieldnow.com\/news\/local\/cesar-chavez-mural-appears-in-downtown-bakersfield\" class=\"themeColorForLinks\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"> back in November 2019.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The labor leader, <a href=\"https:\/\/bakersfieldnow.com\/search?find=Cesar%20Chavez\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"https:\/\/bakersfieldnow.com\/search?find=Cesar%20Chavez\" class=\"themeColorForLinks\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Cesar Chavez<\/a>, is accused of sexually abusing girls and women during the 1960s and 1970s.<\/p>\n<p>Dolores Huerta, once considered a Chavez ally, also claims Chavez raped her and that she gave birth to two children from those encounters.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement to Eyewitness News, Bakersfield City Councilman Andrae Gonzales said, \u201cThe property owner says the mural had been planned to be removed as soon as April 4th.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"BAKERSFIELD, Calif.
