This is an ongoing investigation.

An officer later noted that suspect Kathleen M. Wonderlich was scaring people at Driftwood Point Apartments. An officer contacted Wonderlich in the empty parking lot at His Supper Table. Wonderlich was advised not to harass people at Driftwood Point Apartments, and he stated he would move along.

After the officer cleared his initial contact with Wonderlich, Dispatch advised of a Department of Corrections warrant hit on Wonderlich. The officer asked Dispatch to attempt to confirm the warrant, and then located Wonderlich riding his bicycle.

Wonderlich failed to stop for the stop sign at Oregon Avenue N. and Third Street N.E. The officer contacted him again on the southeast corner of Pacific Avenue N. and Third Street N. He informed Wonderlich he had a DOC warrant, and that he was checking to determine if it could be confirmed.

After dispatch advised the warrant was confirmed, the officer advised Wonderlich he was detaining him in handcuffs until the jail confirmed they would hold on the warrant. Wonderlich ran southbound in the roadway in front of oncoming traffic.

The officer did not chase Wonderlich due to safety concerns, and because the jail had not confirmed if they would hold him. Two other officers and Washington State Patrol responded to assist. A check of the area was conducted, but they were unable to locate the suspect.

March 27 — Disturbance: Caller stated that someone had just thrown a water bottle at his car and was yelling. He said it did not do any damage.

A second call was received at the same time, stating that someone was walking by and yelling. She told the subject to be quiet. The subject said he would burn their house down and kill her.

An officer checked the area of the Ilwaco Market, and the subject was not there, but an employee was able to identify the subject.

The officer contacted the second caller at her house. She did not feel threatened, and did not want to pursue disorderly conduct charges. The officer told her he would try to find the subject and tell him to stop. She was happy with that.

The officer also talked to the first caller, and he also said he did not want to pursue charges.

Later, the officer contacted the subject, and told him to stop, or he would end up going to jail. He said he understood.

March 28 — Trespass: Caller reported observing a male subject walking on her rental property last night. The subject was last seen jumping the fence and attempting to open the Dennis Company delivery van and storage garage. The house was rented out for the evening, and the occupants were not aware of the person prowling.

At the officer’s request, the caller sent him the video captured from her Ring cameras. He reviewed the footage and recognized the subject as Riley L Wonderlich. He conducted a check of the area, and was unable to locate any signs of forced entry at the Dennis Company.

The officer also conducted a check of the area for Wonderlich, and walked the vacant lot west of Ocean Beach Boulevard and Third Street S.W., and was unable to locate him.

The officer also requested that the night shift attempt to locate Wonderlich and get him booked on his DOC warrant, if possible.

March 29 — Disturbance: A call originally came in as a 9-1-1 hang up. Upon redial, Dispatch spoke to the manager of Heidi’s Inn, who said that a male subject has been disorderly, and was yelling on the sidewalk and slamming things in his room. He also stated that last night there was a trail of blood to the subject’s room.

Two officers responded and spoke to the caller. He said that he was the one who originally called 9-1-1 and hung up, then relayed the details to them that he told Dispatch. He also added that the subject has threatened people walking by the motel in the past. He has been living at the motel for two months.

An officer told him that they could not remove the subject, as he has residency now, and that he would have to go through the eviction process to have him removed. He was also told he could apply for a restraining order if he felt unsafe with the subject around.

The manager did not want the subject to go to jail, he just wanted to help him. The officers did a welfare check on the subject, who was calm and polite to them. He answered the Involuntary Treatment Act questions, and from what the officer could see, his apartment looked clean and neat. The subject was asked about the blood, and he showed the officer a cut on his hand, and said that was what the blood was from. The officers told the manager what they had found, and then left.

Long Beach Police Blotter Published 7:09 am Sunday, April 5, 2026 March 24 — Theft: Caller reported his…

[33
131,133,132
post-252959","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-long-beach","tag-long-beach","tag-long-beach-headlines","tag-long-beach-news
["GET
