The pop star was being considered for the case of a person who was charged with a felony count of assault on a federal officer, causing bodily injury.<\/p>\n

Although Lizzo happily showed off her court outfit to her millions of followers on Instagram, reports show the singer was unable to perform her jury duties after being excused due to her anti-ICE views.<\/p>\n

The case involved an individual, Luis Dalhet Hipolito, who had allegedly assaulted a federal immigration enforcement agent.<\/p>\n

Prosecutors argued that Hipolitio attacked an ICE agent by hitting him in the face during an immigration enforcement action\u00a0in Los Angeles in June, 2020.<\/p>\n

His actions allegedly caused the agent\u2019s glasses to break, along with a cut to the face. However, on Wednesday, Hipolito was\u00a0cleared of the charges.<\/p>\n

As for Lizzo, a spokesman for the US Attorney\u2019s Office shared with the New York Post<\/a> that the singer admitted to prosecutors she could be \u201cneither fair nor impartial\u201d hearing the trial of a man accused of physically assaulting an ICE agent.<\/p>\n

The Singer Is An Outspoken Critic Of ICE<\/p>\n

Lizzo, born Melissa Viviane Jefferson, is a known critic of ICE, as she has made her stance on the issue clear on multiple occasions, especially through her social media commentary.<\/p>\n

The decision is part of what she\u2019s described as her ongoing \u201cweight release journey,\u201d which began in late 2023.<\/p>\n

She explained that she intentionally delayed intimacy, wanting to reach certain milestones, like winning a Grammy, before taking that step.<\/p>\n
