{"id":253738,"date":"2026-04-06T06:14:07","date_gmt":"2026-04-06T06:14:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/253738\/"},"modified":"2026-04-06T06:14:07","modified_gmt":"2026-04-06T06:14:07","slug":"possible-human-skull-found-during-easter-egg-hunt-police-say","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/253738\/","title":{"rendered":"Possible human skull found during Easter egg hunt, police say"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Authorities were investigating after the discovery Sunday afternoon of possible human remains at a Long Beach park as visitors gathered to celebrate Easter.<\/p>\n<p>The Long Beach Police Department responded to a call around 5 p.m. at DeForest Park after a possible small skull was found by someone searching for Easter eggs in the area, <a class=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/ktla.com\/news\/local-news\/possible-human-remains-found-in-l-a-park-amid-easter-egg-hunt\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">KTLA 5 reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The Police Department did not provide further details Sunday night on who made the gruesome discovery. <\/p>\n<p>Further information about the possible remains, including how long they had been at the park, was not immediately available. <\/p>\n<p>The Los Angeles County medical examiner\u2019s office responded to the scene following the discovery, police said. The investigation is ongoing.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.longbeach.gov\/park\/park-and-facilities\/directory\/deforest-park\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">DeForest Park<\/a> runs along the L.A. River and features a large wetland area with nature trails.
