(FOX26) \u2014 The California Department of Education selected a Fresno Unified teacher to help develop a statewide high school personal finance curriculum guide.<\/p>\n<p>The move comes after Fresno Unified began providing personal finance classes throughout the district.<\/p>\n<p>Educator Jeff Allen was selected to, help develop a statewide high school personal finance curriculum guide<\/p>\n<p>The development comes as Gov. Gavin Newsom has announced a new stand-alone, one-semester personal finance course.<\/p>\n<p>Allen believes financial literacy can \u201ctruly transform lives,\u201d giving students tools to build generational wealth, plan for the future, and avoid predatory financial practices.<\/p>\n<p>The personal finance instruction focuses on real-world skills, including budgeting, paying for college and managing credit, aimed at helping students make smart decisions and create better opportunities for themselves and their families.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"FRESNO, Calif.
