WHITE HOUSE GORGEOUS FOR IT. AN EASTER EGG HUNT TOOK A TRAGIC TURN IN LONG BEACH OVER THE WEEKEND AFTER A FAMILY DISCOVERED POSSIBLE HUMAN REMAINS IN A PARK. BRITTANY HERMAN HAS THE STORY, A STARK AND DISTURBING DISCOVERY AT DEFOREST PARK IN LONG BEACH, SKY VIDEO SHOWS COLORFUL EASTER EGGS SCATTERED ACROSS THE DIRT PATH, JUST FEET AWAY FROM WHAT A FAMILY BELIEVES IS A HUMAN SKULL. I JUST STARTED CRYING. IT WAS SAD. AROUND 5:00 SUNDAY NIGHT, LONG BEACH POLICE SAY THEY RESPONDED TO THE PARK AFTER REPORTS OF POSSIBLE HUMAN REMAINS. OFFICIALS SAY THE LA COUNTY MEDICAL EXAMINER WAS CALLED TO THE SCENE. THE FAMILY TOLD CBSLA OFF CAMERA THEIR CHILDREN WERE HUNTING FOR EASTER EGGS WHEN THEY MADE A DISTURBING DISCOVERY, WHAT THEY BELIEVE WAS A HUMAN SKULL, POSSIBLY THAT OF A YOUNG CHILD WITH SMALL BONES FOUND NEARBY. PRETTY TRAGIC, LIKE, YOU KNOW, IT’S A DAY WHERE I FEEL LIKE YOU WANT TO BE WITH THE FAMILY. YOU DON’T REALLY EXPECT THESE KINDS OF THINGS. YOU EXPECT TO HAVE A WHOLESOME TIME. MARK SALDANA WAS AT THE PARK FOR AN EASTER GATHERING. HE SAYS HE WAS WALKING ALONG A TRAIL WHEN HE CAME ACROSS THE FAMILY JUST MOMENTS AFTER THE DISCOVERY. I FIRST SAW THE FAMILY. THEY’RE LIKE DOING LIKE AN EASTER EGG HUNT, BUT THEY WERE LIKE FREAKING OUT A LITTLE BIT. IT’S TERRIBLE. WE SEEN THE POLICE CARS DOWN HERE EARLIER WHEN WE WERE COMING BACK FROM SERVICE. HOURS LATER, NEIGHBORS RETURNED TO THE SCENE HOPING FOR ANSWERS. WE’RE DEVASTATED. JUST WE LOVE THIS AREA. THIS NEIGHBORHOOD. AND TO THINK THAT. THIS WOULD HAPPEN, COULD HAPPEN TO A LITTLE CHILD. FOR MANY, THE FOCUS NOW IS ON THE CHILDREN WHO MAY HAVE WITNESSED SOMETHING NO CHILD SHOULD EVER SEE A CHILD AND FIND A REMAINS LIKE THAT. I MEAN, IT WOULD BE TRAUMATIZING FOR A CHILD. I CAN ONLY IMAGINE, LIKE FOR THEM FINDING LIKE A DEAD, LIKE A ANOTHER KID MUST BE TRAGIC FOR

A family’s Easter egg hunt in Long Beach, California, came to an abrupt end after they stumbled upon potential human remains in a park on Sunday afternoon, according to the Long Beach Police Department.Officers responded to a call about potential human remains at DeForest Park around 5 p.m. on Sunday. The outlet reported that a family had been in the middle of the Easter egg hunt when they made the discovery. The nearly 50-acre park and wetland area is adjacent to the Los Angeles River and includes a playground, pickleball courts and community center.
