The Critics Choice Association announced Tuesday the honorees for its third annual Celebration of LGBTQ+ Cinema & Television, which will take place next month in Los Angeles.<\/p>\n
The event on May 29 will recognize achievements across the LGBTQ+ entertainment community, highlighting actors, writers and creators in film and television, organizers said.<\/p>\n
\u201cLGBTQ+ representation continues to matter, now more than ever,\u201d Joey Berlin, CEO of the Critics Choice Association, said in a statement. \u201cThe Critics Choice Association is proud to celebrate and uplift the achievements of the LGBTQ+ community.\u201d<\/p>\n
Among those being honored are Emmy Award-winning actress Jane Lynch, known for her role in \u201cGlee\u201d and as host of \u201cCelebrity Weakest Link,\u201d who will receive the Groundbreaker Award, and actor-writer Dan Levy, co-creator and star of \u201cSchitt\u2019s Creek,\u201d who will be presented with the Vanguard Award.<\/p>\n
Paula Pell, a writer and performer known for her work on \u201cSaturday Night Live\u201d and the series \u201cThe \u2018Burbs,\u201d will receive the Trailblazer Award.<\/p>\n
Hannah Einbinder will be recognized for her performance in HBO Max\u2019s \u201cHacks,\u201d while Bre-Z will be honored for her role on the CW drama \u201cAll American.\u201d<\/p>\n
Additional honorees include Brandon Scott Jones for his role on the CBS comedy \u201cGhosts,\u201d director Dearbhla Walsh for her work on projects including \u201cBad Sisters,\u201d and showrunner Jacob Tierney for the series \u201cHeated Rivalry.\u201d<\/p>\n
