Sacramento jurors convicted a man of attempted murder in the 2021 shooting of a Sacramento County woman, Sacramento County District Attorney\u2019s officials said Tuesday.<\/p>\n
Anthony Eugene Deollas, 40, will serve up to 44 years to life in state prison after Sacramento Superior Court jurors handed down guilty verdicts April 2 in the Aug. 1, 2021 shooting. District Attorney\u2019s officials said Deollas entered the woman\u2019s property, forced his way into her home and refused to leave. Deollas then broke into her bedroom where she had locked herself inside.<\/p>\n
The woman called 911 from inside the bedroom when emergency dispatchers heard a loud sound over their receiver before the line disconnected, said district attorney\u2019s officials. The woman called dispatchers a second time about five minutes later. Deollas had shot her in the arm and was attempting to kill her.<\/p>\n
The woman would need several surgeries to save her arm, district attorney\u2019s offcials said.<\/p>\n
Along with the attempted murder charge, jurors also convicted Deollas of assault with a deadly weapon, burglary and felon in possession of a firearm charges. The jury also found true the use of firearm allegations.<\/p>\n
