OAKLAND COUNTY, Mich. \u2013 Two men were taken into custody after a traffic stop on I-75 in Oakland County led to the discovery of drugs, a firearm, and other suspected contraband.<\/p>\n
Michigan State Police said troopers from the Second District stopped a vehicle for speeding in Groveland Township on Monday (April 6).<\/p>\n
Police said the driver, a 46-year-old Howell man, told troopers he did not have a valid driver\u2019s license. <\/p>\n
Officials said a roadside investigation also revealed that he had an outstanding warrant for carrying a concealed weapon.<\/p>\n
Police said the passenger, a 42-year-old Warren man, was identified as a convicted felon who is currently on parole.<\/p>\n
During a search of the vehicle, Troopers said they found a loaded 9 mm pistol hidden in a compartment beneath the center console. <\/p>\n
Police also reported locating 79 grams of individually packaged methamphetamine and an additional 22 grams in bulk form.<\/p>\n
Troopers said the search also uncovered marijuana, two containers of unlabeled pills, scales, multiple weapons described as dangerous stabbing instruments, four vials containing an unknown substance, suspected additional controlled substances, and a container of ammunition.<\/p>\n
The passenger was lodged in the Oakland County Jail. <\/p>\n
The driver was taken to a hospital for medical treatment.<\/p>\n
The case remains under investigation pending review by the prosecutor\u2019s office.<\/p>\n
