A 21-year-old British tourist was last heard from on April 3 after texting her family during her California sightseeing trip<\/p>\n

Now reported missing, the woman has been identified by local outlet KTVU as Katherine Kerwood<\/p>\n

Kerwood’s father claims to have seen security footage showing his daughter meeting a man holding flowers on arrival at San Francisco International Airport<\/p>\n

A 21-year-old woman has been reported missing after she embarked on a solo sightseeing trip in California.<\/p>\n

Named by local outlets KTVU<\/a> and SFist<\/a> as Katherine Esther Gamboa Kerwood, the British citizen arrived at San Francisco International (SFO) on March 31.<\/p>\n

Her dad told KTVU that security camera footage from the airport showed her meeting a man who was carrying flowers.<\/p>\n

The family claims they had later found out that she had met the man previously while in the United Kingdom. He has been identified only as David by KTVU.<\/p>\n

Kerwood had weeklong plans to visit all the major California tourist destinations, such as Santa Cruz, Sacramento and Calaveras Big Trees State Park.<\/p>\n

The traveler told her family on Tuesday, March 31, that she was staying at a hostel in Sacramento, but they claim she never checked in, per the outlets.<\/p>\n

The last time they heard from Kerwood was a text message she sent on Friday, April 3.<\/p>\n

Family friend Ali Zaidi told KTVU on Sunday, April 5: \u201cWhen she messaged, they said, ‘Hey, let’s get on the phone,’ and immediately she didn’t respond.”<\/p>\n

Zaidi described Kerwood as \u201cgenerally very responsive.\u201d<\/p>\n

She is currently scheduled to fly back to London on Wednesday, April 8.<\/p>\n

Kerwood\u2019s disappearance has been reported to the San Francisco Police Department (SFPD) and the U.K authorities, per the outlets.<\/p>\n

KTVU also reports that the SFPD had entered Kerwood\u2019s information into a statewide law enforcement database, so officers across California were alerted.<\/p>\n

The UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office and the SFPD did not immediately respond when PEOPLE reached out to them.<\/p>\n
