BAKERSFIELD, Calif.(KBAK\/KBFX) \u2014 A Kern County judge has delayed a key hearing for Victor Farias, who is accused of killing 30-year-old Yolanda Rojo on College Avenue last month<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Farias pleaded not guilty last week<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Bakersfield police were called around 9:47 p.m. on March 25 to a report of an assault in the 7000 block of College Avenue. When officers arrived, they found a woman, later identified as Yolanda Rojo, of Bakersfield, with severe injuries. She was taken to Kern Medical, where she later died.<\/p>\n

Farias was captured by Tehachapi police the following day and taken into custody by Bakersfield police. His vehicle was found abandoned near Tehachapi in the area of Highway 58 and Tucker Road just after 11:30 p.m., on March 25, after an apparent hit-and-run crash.<\/p>\n

Farias was scheduled to have his preliminary hearing on Tuesday, April 7, but it was pushed back to May 14. He is charged with murder, child cruelty, and domestic violence-related offenses.<\/p>\n
