{"id":258213,"date":"2026-04-08T21:25:09","date_gmt":"2026-04-08T21:25:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/258213\/"},"modified":"2026-04-08T21:25:09","modified_gmt":"2026-04-08T21:25:09","slug":"take-a-tour-around-long-beach-with-the-new-monopoly-board-game-san-bernardino-sun","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/258213\/","title":{"rendered":"Take a tour around Long Beach with the new Monopoly board game \u2013 San Bernardino Sun"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>If you\u2019re a Long Beach resident, don\u2019t pass go on this new game board because Mr. Monopoly has come to the city and he\u2019s making a stop at local landmarks.<\/p>\n<p>The famous board game has just released the \u201cMonopoly: Long Beach Edition,\u201d board featuring squares based on locations that define the city and its culture.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s an incredible opportunity to bring all of our businesses, not just the Queen Mary on one board if you will,\u201d said Steve Caloca, managing director for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.presstelegram.com\/2023\/08\/07\/the-haunting-of-the-queen-mary-film-crew-had-some-spooky-experiences-in-long-beach\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Queen Mary<\/a>, which is prominently featured on the cover of the gameboard box and the coveted \u201cBoardwalk\u201d space on the game board. (Photo courtesy the Queen Mary)<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen it came out it was just great to see so many great places we have in the community,\u201d Caloca said.<\/p>\n<p>There are various Monopoly city editions featuring local landmarks, streets and businesses, including cities like Boston, St. Louis, and San Diego. But this is the first Long Beach edition and it\u2019s just one of a handful of city versions done each year.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s supposed to represent everything we love about the city. We ask for input from the community on what they want to see represent their city,\u201d said Jennifer Tripsea, who designs custom games for Monopoly and other Hasbro products.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe do these city editions because it\u2019s a great way to commemorate your city on an iconic board game.
