OAKLAND \u2014 A man has been arrested and charged with murder for allegedly shooting a man then chasing him into a convenience store<\/a> and continuing to fire after the victim had fallen to the ground, court records show.<\/p>\n

Antone Bullard, 37, of Oakland, was also charged with use of a firearm in the March 1 killing of 35-year-old Matthew Pierce, who was shot and killed inside The Island store on San Pablo Avenue in Oakland. The entire killing was captured on video, from when Bullard and Pierce were seen arguing outside the store, to the point where Bullard allegedly chased a wounded Pierce inside the store and finished him off, according to police.<\/p>\n

The video helped police identify Bullard as a suspect, but it also led to other fallout. Employees at the store allegedly ended up sharing the footage with customers, which authorities say infuriated Pierce\u2019s brother, Marcus Freeman. Irate at the disrespect, Freeman allegedly went to the store twice \u2014 on March 2 and March 9 \u2014 with gasoline and a lighter, and set the business on fire<\/a>, according to court records. He was charged with attempted arson.<\/p>\n

Bullard was arrested on April 2 out of the area, and booked into Santa Rita Jail in Dublin on Wednesday, according to the jail\u2019s intake log. He has not yet had his first court appearance.<\/p>\n

The charging records allege that Pierce arrived at the store in a car, got out, and started arguing with Bullard and his \u201cassociates\u201d around 3 p.m. on March 1. Bullard allegedly shot Pierce, chased him into the store, and \u201ccontinue(d) to shoot (Pierce) multiple times\u201d even after Pierce fell to the ground, police said in court filings.<\/p>\n
