The flight, DL1430, departed from John Wayne Airport in Orange County and was intended to fly into Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA).<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The flight departed from Southern California at 7:31 p.m. Nearly 50 minutes into the flight, as the Airbus A220-100 passed over Yosemite National Park, it began to divert to the west toward OAK.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">A Delta spokesperson told KRON4 Wednesday morning that the diversion was due to a \u201creported odor from the flight crew.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\"><a class=\"link \" href=\"https:\/\/www.kron4.com\/news\/national\/delta-joins-growing-list-of-airlines-raising-checked-bag-fees\/?ipid=promo-link-block1\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Delta joins growing list of airlines raising checked bag fees;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" data-yga=\"{&quot;yLinkElement&quot;:&quot;context_link&quot;,&quot;yModuleName&quot;:&quot;content-canvas&quot;,&quot;yLinkText&quot;:&quot;Delta joins growing list of airlines raising checked bag fees&quot;}\"> Delta joins growing list of airlines raising checked bag fees <\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The plane landed without incident at OAK at 8:48 p.m. According to Delta, passengers deplaned normally and the Airbus aircraft was taken out of service for evaluation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">\u201cDelta worked to minimize disruption for customers by arranging alternate travel arrangements,\u201d its spokesperson said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Flight tracking platform FlightAware shows a DL1430 flight departing from OAK at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday with an arrival time of 10:04 a.m. at SEA.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Copyright 2026 Nexstar Media, Inc.
