Work is beginning for another large multifamily residential development<\/a> along Pacific Coast Highway, reports Longbeachize.<\/a><\/p>\n

Five years after acquiring the Marina Shores shopping center at 6500 Pacific Coast Highway<\/a> for $68 million, Onni Group<\/a> has commenced demolition of the approximately six-acre site. In its place, the Vancouver-based development firm has received approvals for the construction of a five-story complex containing 600 studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments above 4,000 square feet of commercial space and parking for more than 1,100 vehicles.<\/p>\n

SCB<\/a> is designing the project, dubbed Onni Marina Shores, which would include a central driveway cutting between Marina Drive and Pacific Coast Highway. Salt Landscape Architects<\/a> is the landscape architect for the project, which has been described as being located on a transitional site between the Alamitos Bay Marina and wetlands to the north, as well as at the southeastern gateway of the City of Long Beach.<\/p>\n

The project is the largest of three apartment complexes planned along this stretch of Pacific Coast Highway, coming on the heels of a 281-unit development from Holland Partner Group now under construction to the east.<\/a> Carmel Partners also has plans for a housing complex at 6615 Pacific Coast Highway<\/a>.<\/p>\n
