(FOX26) \u2014 A custom-built firetruck that was made in Fresno is being sent to Kansas City.<\/p>\n<p>Tempest, a Fresno-based company, has just completed a custom mobile ventilation unit, or MVU, that\u2019s now headed to Kansas City.<\/p>\n<p>The company designs and manufactures firefighter safety equipment in Fresno.<\/p>\n<p>The massive truck is designed to help firefighters clear smoke faster during emergencies, ultimately saving lives.<\/p>\n<p>The mounted ventilation fan is also breaking records.<\/p>\n<p>The Marketing Communication Manager, Sam Jessup, said, &#8220;This is the largest vehicle-mounted ventilator in the world.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Jessup continued, &#8220;We get very excited about these sorts of things because it makes us feel like we&#8217;re making a difference in the lives of people and the lives of firefighters around.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>[RELATED] <a href=\"https:\/\/kmph.com\/news\/local\/judge-denies-avenal-bid-to-force-kings-county-to-provide-fire-services-for-six-months\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Judge denies Avenal bid to force Kings County to provide fire services for six months<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Their technology was recently used during the demolition of the producers&#8217; dairy silos in downtown Fresno and in a recent smoke-clearing incident at Northpointe church.<\/p>\n<p>Jessup says they&#8217;ve also sent three of these trucks to the Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"FRESNO, Calif.
