Gary Gerould has endeared himself to generations of fans as one of the most beloved figures in franchise history over 41 seasons as the radio voice of the Sacramento Kings.<\/p>\n

The Kings announced plans to honor Gerould\u2019s legacy on Friday as they prepared to face the Golden State Warriors in their final home game of the season.<\/p>\n

The media dining and workspace at Golden 1 Center will be named the Gary \u201cG-Man\u201d Gerould Media Center next season as the Kings celebrate the 10-year anniversary of their downtown arena. The media area serves as a central hub for broadcasters and journalists covering Kings home games.<\/p>\n

The Kings said updated signage and storytelling elements throughout the media area will pay tribute to Gerould\u2019s ongoing legacy, professionalism and the unmistakable voice that has been synonymous with Kings basketball for generations of fans.<\/p>\n

Gerould has served as the radio voice of the King since the team moved to Sacramento in 1985. He has called more than 3,000 games, in good times and bad, through all eras of Kings basketball.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor more than 40 years, G-Man has been the defining voice of the Sacramento Kings, bringing every moment to life on the radio with unmatched precision, passion, and storytelling,\u201d Kings owner Vivek Ranadive said in a press release. \u201cHis impact extends beyond the game, and we\u2019re proud to honor someone who has been such a meaningful part of our franchise.\u201d<\/p>\n
