RENO, Nev. \u2013\u00a0 JC Osorio-Agard<\/a> went 2-for-4 with two doubles and an RBI to lead the San Jos\u00e9 State baseball team (13-20, 4-6 MW) in a 11-1 eight inning loss to Nevada (18-12, 7-3 MW) Friday night from Don Weir Field at Peccole Park in the first game of a three game series.<\/p>\n

The Spartans found themselves in a hole early, surrendering five runs in the bottom of the first inning. Nevada kept the pressure on throughout the game, adding single runs in the third and fifth before breaking it open with a four-run eighth.<\/p>\n

SJSU\u2019s offense struggled to generate momentum, finishing with just six hits and leaving 13 runners on base. The Spartans didn\u2019t break through until the seventh inning, when Osorio-Agard drove in the team\u2019s lone run off an RBI double.<\/p>\n

Peyton Rowles<\/a> also recorded a multi-hit game, finishing 2-for-5, while Rohne Klein<\/a> added a hit off the bench. However, San Jos\u00e9 State went just 2-for-11 with runners in scoring position and struck out 10 times, stalling multiple scoring opportunities.<\/p>\n

On the mound, starter David Thomas<\/a> (3-4) took the loss after allowing seven runs on 11 hits over five innings. Luca Staiano<\/a> came on in relief and gave up four runs across 2.2 innings as Nevada piled up 16 hits and went 10-for-18 with runners in scoring position.<\/p>\n
