A family who lost their beloved cat during a cross-country move has finally welcomed him home, seven years after he vanished.<\/p>\n

Before the journey began, Dodger disappeared without a trace. For years, the family had only questions until a late-night email brought hope back into their lives, according to Your Central Valley<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cIt was like 11 o\u2019clock at night\u2026 Dodger has been scanned into Fresno TNR,\u201d Davidson said.<\/p>\n Dodger was found in Madera and brought into Fresno Trap and Release for neutering, \u201clike any other cat,\u201d according to Sydney Sherman, who works with the non-profit. But staff quickly realized something was off\u2014he had already been neutered and had a microchip.<\/p>\n When Sherman scanned the chip, it revealed an address far from California.<\/p>\n For years, the family had only questions until a late-night email brought hope back into their lives. cbs47<\/p>\n \u201cI was like, oh my gosh\u2026 this isn\u2019t a 559 area code,\u201d she told the outlet.<\/p>\n At this point, the Davidsons had moved again\u20142,500 miles\u2014to Georgia. As Sherman and Davidson kept in touch, fate intervened.
