Oakland County Restaurant Quest: Simple Thai and Sushi in Waterford<\/p>\n

Waterford, MI \u2013\u00a0Simple Thai and Sushi is one of those places that\u2019s made it way into my list of regular spots. It is, like the name suggests, simple. It\u2019s got a solid menu of staples, quality ingredients, convenient parking and location, and great prices. I absolutely love it.<\/p>\n

One of the first meals I had was the Pad Pak, which is a mix of sauteed vegetables, which I ordered with tofu, in a light brown sauce. There were fresh sliced mushrooms, bites of beautiful green broccoli, celery, and carrots.<\/p>\n

Another favorite is the Pad Thai, made with rice noodles sauteed with bean sprouts, egg, green onion and other vegetables, topped with crushed peanuts.\u00a0 Pictured below it\u2019s made with beef, but there are also chicken, tofu, scallop, shrimp, and vegetable options.<\/p>\n

Fried Wontons are made with ground chicken and onion wrapped in wonton skin and fried to a golden crisp, served with sweet and sour sauce.<\/p>\n

In addition to delicious Thai meals, there are a number of sushi options on the menu.\u00a0 Over time, I\u2019ve had a few of these.\u00a0 The Philly Roll is made with smoked salmon, avocado, and cream cheese with masago on top.\u00a0 The AAC Roll has Avocado, Cucumber, and Asparagus, for bites of healthy green veggies. and the California Roll is a classic with crab, avocado, and cucumber.<\/p>\n

Last, but certainly not least, for this column I got the Crispy Duck was served perfectly fried and served with a sweet and tangy sauce. Duck meat has a fattier, richer flavor than dark meat chicken, and this meal has crispy edges with tender meat on the inside.<\/p>\n

There are many other items to try, including Tuna Tataki, Crab Seaweed Salad, Peanut Curry, a variety of fried rice dishes and more.<\/p>\n

Sushi-wise there are creative rolls like the Hot Mama Roll (with cooked shrimp, avocado, flash fried spicy tuna, jalapenos, spicy tuna and garlic mayo), the Emerald Sea Roll (with tuna or salmon, cream cheese, avocado, scallions, and masago wrapped in cucumber skin topped with ponzu sauce). and the Hawaiian Crunch Roll (with tuna, cream cheese, imitation crab, mango, coconut flakes flash flied and topped with sweet chili sauce).<\/p>\n
