{"id":264385,"date":"2026-04-12T19:50:09","date_gmt":"2026-04-12T19:50:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/264385\/"},"modified":"2026-04-12T19:50:09","modified_gmt":"2026-04-12T19:50:09","slug":"san-francisco-49ers-to-wear-80th-anniversary-patch-on-uniforms-in-2026-sportslogos-net-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/264385\/","title":{"rendered":"San Francisco 49ers To Wear 80th Anniversary Patch On Uniforms In 2026 \u2013 SportsLogos.Net News"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1000\" height=\"563\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/san-francisco-49ers-80th-anniversary-logo-1000x563.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-98574\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>The San Francisco 49ers will celebrate their 80th anniversary in 2026 with a commemorative logo, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.49ers.com\/video\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">which they appropriately announced on April 9<\/a> \u2013 stylized as 4\/9 \u2013 will be worn as a patch on their home, road, throwback and \u201cRivalries\u201d uniforms this season.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The logo is rather simple when compared to the franchise\u2019s previous anniversary marks, including their 40th in 1986, 50th in 1996, 60th in 2006, 70th in 2011 and 75th in 2016, though it\u2019s worth noting the 60th <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sportslogos.net\/logos\/list_by_team\/179\/San-Francisco-49ers-Logos\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">mistakenly claimed \u201cseasons\u201d when it was actually their 61st season<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Where as those marks had additional details such as the Golden Gate Bridge, nods to their victories in Super Bowls XVI, XIX, XXIII, XXIV and XXI or were shaped like their 1965-72 alternate logo, football or diamond, this logo is almost entirely the No. 80 in a white block font.<\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s a red ribbon that displays \u201cYEARS\u201d protruding from the zero, while the 49ers\u2019 logo and \u201cEST. 1946\u201d sits just beneath the digits. The logo is complete with a black background with a gold outline, <a href=\"https:\/\/news.sportslogos.net\/tag\/49ers\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">tying in the other colors in San Francisco\u2019s palette.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe 49ers\u2019 legacy is a global story that began in 1946 in the Bay Area,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/49ers\/status\/2042275088616284616\" rel=\"nofollow\">the franchise said in a statement<\/a>. \u201cThe logo for our 80 years of history is a bold proclamation recognizing the milestone season with a nod to the establishment of the organization in 1946.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The 49ers were an original member of the All-American Football Conference, which merged with the NFL in 1949.
