MARIN COUNTY, Calif. (KGO) — Strong wind and heavy rain was felt across the Bay Area Saturday.<\/p>\n

The storm causing flooding along places like Alemany Boulevard in San Francisco and taking down trees in other parts of the city and in Oakland.<\/p>\n

In the North Bay, we talked with the Marin County Fire Department at one of their stations on Mount Tam.<\/p>\n

They tell us in some of the more remote communities there, downed trees are always a worry.<\/p>\n

“The storm kind of comes in ebbs and flows so if you know the storm is going to be more impactful at one point of the day, try staying off the road,” said fire engineer Casey Collett.<\/p>\n

A few blocks away, we met Sara Staley and her husband Brian.<\/p>\n

The pair came to Mount Tam for a celebration of life ceremony for Sara’s mother.<\/p>\n

Although they were worried the wet weather would ruin the gathering, Sara tells us a break in the storm came at the perfect time.<\/p>\n

A parting gift, she believes, from her mother.<\/p>\n

“Some praying for the weather to open up just in time for the ceremony, and it did! So that was nice, the prayers worked,” said Staley.<\/p>\n

Closer to the ground, we ran into the Manak family on the streets of Sausalito.<\/p>\n

Cake and all, they say they’re visiting from Los Angeles for their daughter’s 20th birthday.<\/p>\n

Trying to make the best of the family getaway.<\/p>\n

“We thought this would be a good place to be around. Although, the weather, it affects our plan a little bit,” said Saksham Manak.<\/p>\n

And with more rain set to fall in the area in the coming hours, the fire department says preparation is key.<\/p>\n

“I don’t know if there’s a normal anymore with these storms. As most people know this year it’s been pretty wild with very nice weather and then a week of really stormy weather,” said Collett.<\/p>\n
