(KBAK\/KBFX) Multiple fire crews were called to <a href=\"https:\/\/bakersfieldnow.com\/news\/local\/large-plume-rises-as-crews-battle-fire-at-abandoned-east-bakersfield-warehouse\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">east Bakersfield on Saturday to put out a warehouse fire near 99 Washington Street<\/a>, the latest in a string of fires at the same warehouse complex.<\/p>\n<p>The property has been the site of repeated fire responses this year. <\/p>\n<p>In<a href=\"https:\/\/bakersfieldnow.com\/news\/local\/fire-erupts-again-at-troubled-warehouse-site-in-kern-county-legal-experts-weigh-in\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"> March 2025, flames scorched the warehouse<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>At the time, Kern County Fire Department spokesman Andrew Freeborn said the fire involved highly combustible materials.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\" Fire sets ablaze in East Bakersfield at notorious warehouse complex (KBAK\/KBFX)\" class=\"ImageEmbed_image__qZBo_\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/40f9a748-b9aa-4e0a-a9bf-0aa8149c7df1-smoke.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<p> Fire sets ablaze in East Bakersfield at notorious warehouse complex (KBAK\/KBFX)<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat was burning was plastic wrap,\u201d Freeborn said on March 13, 2025.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo even if you\u2019re getting some moisture from the rain, it\u2019s burning with such intensity, and the rain has to get to what\u2019s burning.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>RELATED: <a href=\"https:\/\/bakersfieldnow.com\/news\/local\/firefighters-battle-recurring-blaze-at-east-bakersfield-warehouse\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Community concerns grow over recurring fires at east Bakersfield warehouse<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Firefighters were also called to the warehouse complex in January 2025. <\/p>\n<p>Kern County Fire Department spokesman Jonathan Drucker said the area has generated numerous calls for service.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere have been lots of fires in that area. It\u2019s about a ten-acre or so compound.
