The building\u2019s owner \u2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sfgate.com\/culture-events\/article\/sf-ballet-gala-2026-21320963.php\" data-link=\"native\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"\">the San Francisco Ballet<\/a> \u2014 has grown in the past 20 years, meaning <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scott-whelan.com\/properties\/3016jackson-6k3tk-llbj7-md8dz-tpra5-c29dn\" data-link=\"native\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"\">3016 Jackson St.<\/a> is no longer big enough to house the many dancers who travel from all over the world to dance here. This growth, however, presents the rare chance for a new buyer to own a multi-unit structure in one of the city\u2019s most rarified neighborhoods.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn-channels-pixel.ex.co\/events\/0012000001fxZm9AAE?integrationType=DEFAULT&amp;template=design%2Farticle%2Fplatypus_two_column.tpl\" alt=\"\" class=\"x1px y1px vh abs\" aria-hidden=\"true\" width=\"1\" height=\"1\"\/><\/p>\n<p>The building stands in harmony with other centenarian structures along Jackson Street. It\u2019s a historic street where several homes escaped the 1906 earthquake\u2019s destruction. In the case of 3016 Jackson St., the building broke ground three years after the quake, and was originally configured as a triplex. Residents share a kitchen, formal dining room, living room and den, as well as meeting rooms, an office, laundry and storage. Eventually, however, the ballet needed a larger space, according to Whelan, at which point the building was leased to Westmont College to use for student housing. Nationally, luxury properties are in high demand, with investors purchases up 5% over the previous year in the final quarter of 2025,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sfgate.com\/realestate\/article\/investor-homebuying-california-22070845.php\" data-link=\"native\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"\">SFGATE previously reported<\/a>.
