If you were fretting over missing out on Oscar-winning actor,<\/a> comedian and singer Jamie Foxx\u2019s<\/a> comedy tour<\/a> stops in the Bay Area, you just got another chance.<\/p>\n

Organizers for Foxx\u2019s comedy tour, which has sold out shows on April 16 and 17 at the Henry J. Kaiser Center for the Arts in Oakland, have announced a third show \u2014 8 p.m. April 18 at the same venue.<\/p>\n

Tickets, at $112 to $195 (subject to change) are on sale now at Ticketmaster.<\/a><\/p>\n

All three performances are part of a new comedy special Foxx is filming for Hulu (so of course if you yell really loud, maybe you\u2019ll hear yourself on TV). Broadcast\/streaming dates have not been released.<\/p>\n

Foxx is best known these days as one of Hollywood\u2019s top leading men, having won an best-actor Oscar for his portrayal of music legend Ray Charles in 2004\u2019s \u201cRay,\u201d and having been nominated for a supporting-actor Oscar for \u201cCollateral\u201d in the same year. He\u2019s also starred in or appeared in such films as \u201cAli\u201d (2001), \u201cDreamGirls\u201d (2006), \u201cMiami Vice\u201d (2006), \u201cDjango Unchained (2012)\u201d; and he played Electro in \u201cThe Amazing Spider-Man 2\u201d (2014) and \u201cSpider-Man: No Way Home\u201d (2021).<\/p>\n

But his roots go deep in comedy (the performer who\u2019s real name is\u00a0Eric Marlon Bishop reportedly took his stage name in honor of Redd Foxx).\u00a0He was a cast member of the hit sketch comedy TV show \u201cIn Living Color,\u201d which he parlayed into co-creating, producing and starring in his own sitcom, The Jamie Foxx Show, which aired from 1996-2001.<\/p>\n

And, as organizers note, he competed in the Bay Area Black Comedy Competition 35 years \u2014 in the same venue he\u2019s performing\u00a0 in this week.<\/p>\n
