FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) — Inside a Fresno County courtroom on Tuesday, the girl accused of being the getaway driver in the murder of Caleb Quick sat before a judge who will decide if she will be tried as an adult.<\/p>\n
During cross-examination, we got a first look at a new video surveillance of the grim moment Quick was shot in the McDonald’s Parking lot at Willow Station.<\/p>\n
“It’s very disturbing, the stuff that we saw. I had to step out at the moment they showed my son’s passing,” says Stephen Quick, Caleb’s Dad.<\/p>\n
Action News Cameras captured the white Tesla as it was seized from a Clovis home, inside the female suspect.<\/p>\n
On the stand today, a detective revealed that she was “less than cooperative” during the execution of the warrant.<\/p>\n
A Clovis Police Digital Forensic Analyst also took the stand, tasked with accessing both teens’ phones.<\/p>\n
He revealed Google searches they made, one of them after the shooting, googling, “how long does it take for Tesla footage to delete.”<\/p>\n
That vital cell phone data also revealed a timeline of their locations.<\/p>\n
Both teens’ phones tracking them first at Clovis Hills Church around 6 pm, before they stopped at the McDonald’s at around 7:40. They then left and each returned to the McDonald’s just after 8:30, the shooting then happened at approximately 8:57. Both left separately before meeting in a nearby neighborhood minutes later.<\/p>\n
Caleb’s dad tells Action News he wants to see the teens tried as adults because of the level of sophisticated planning.<\/p>\n
RELATED: Surveillance video of Caleb Quick’s death shown in court hearing<\/a><\/p>\n “It’s premeditated so much, so they showed testimony today that he actually was asking for my son at the Clovis Hills Church initially several hours before,” says Quick.<\/p>\n But Caleb was at the Clovis rodeo with his friends, who were also in the courtroom.<\/p>\n “It was a fun time at the rodeo, then we walked him out and then we went to leave midway through the concert or so and we were going to go try and find him, but he wasn’t answering any of our calls,” says Mia Banda, Quick’s Friend.<\/p>\n “He was a big part of my life. He’s never going to get forgotten,” says Austin Lowe, Quick’s Friend.<\/p>\n The defense argued that the girl was “inconsolable” after the shooting, having to be driven home by the male suspect’s brother.<\/p>\n Reading a text exchange between her and the shooter:<\/p>\n She says, “I’m Home,” he then asked, “How are you feeling?” She responds, “I’m just in shock honestly.. idk how to feel.”<\/p>\n ABC30 Legal Analyst Tony Capozzi says text messages from the day before will be extremely critical to the prosecution and could provide an inside look at the motive.<\/p>\n “Looks like they’re lying in wait. It looks like it’s preplanned.
