Teasing a run for president, the event host said she would bring home our troops at the event also attended by Gwen Stefani, RuPaul, Chrissy Teigen, Doechii, Brooks Nader and Hilary Duff<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t really do politics,\u201d claimed host Tiffany Haddish to the crowd of fashionistas assembled at the Beverly Hills Hotel for The Daily Front Row\u2018s 10th Annual Fashion Los Angeles Awards on Tuesday, April 14. \u201cBut I am thinking about running for president.\u201d<\/p>\n

Haddish went on. \u201cAnd if I run for president, our campaign motto will be: \u2018America, mind your own business!\u201d she quipped. \u201cAnd I\u2019ll bring back all our troops, and everybody will come home. We\u2019ll be minding our own business, staying out of other people\u2019s countries.\u201d<\/p>\n

She also joked that, while she wasn\u2019t a model, she believes her experience in foster care in South Central Los Angeles was similar. Said Haddish: \u201cBoth foster care and modeling, they take you away from your family to live with strangers, they don\u2019t feed you regularly, they send you out to the public wearing too-small clothes that you\u2019ve got to give back when you\u2019re finished with them.\u201d<\/p>\n

In honoring Brooks Nader (star of Hulu\u2019s Love Thy Nader and the upcoming Baywatch reboot) as Breakthrough Fashion Talent, Chrissy Teigen recalled how she first heard of Nader, about five years ago. \u201cMy husband, John [Legend], was on his phone, and he goes, \u2018Instagram keeps suggesting that I follow this girl.’\u201d <\/p>\n

Upon looking at his phone, Teigen proclaimed, \u201cWhat is your algorithm?\u2019 It was like the most beautiful girl I had ever seen, with the biggest, brightest smile. And I couldn\u2019t even be mad, because my whole algorithm is like, sexy Peaky Blinders, Cillian Murphy \u2014\u00a0sorry, Luna! My daughter\u2019s here; it\u2019s her 10th birthday.\u201d<\/p>\n

Nader thanked her sisters \u2014\u00a0noting that two sisters were there, but one couldn\u2019t make it on account of getting a mole removed. \u201cAnd she thought you guys would all notice that her mole was removed, when I got my award,\u201d Nader said to laughs.<\/p>\n

When she called out Gwen Stefani, Haddish admitted that her song \u201cBananas\u201d was how she remembered the spelling of the word. \u201cThat\u2019s funny, because I\u2019m dyslexic,\u201d Stefani said. \u201cI can\u2019t spell \u2014\u00a0so I\u2019m happy that that worked for you. And then I\u2019m like, the teleprompter, how are we going to do this?\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cYou got this,\u201d encouraged Haddish. \u201cIt\u2019s all hieroglyphics.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cI love fashion. I\u2019m from Orange County,\u201d continued Stefani. \u201cI used to make a lot of my own clothes growing up \u2026 and I\u2019m here tonight because somehow, I got to work with one of the most talented human beings. And her name is Andrea Lieberman,\u201d she said, presenting A.L.C. founder Lieberman with the Powerhouse Brand Award.<\/p>\n

Hilary Duff glowingly gave the Makeup Artist of the Year award to her artist Kelsey Deenihan Fisher\u00a0\u2014\u00a0joking how Fisher was \u201cdying\u201d by the attention and would rather be hiding under her seat. <\/p>\n

The Pitt star Noah Wiley presented his stylist of one year, Mark Holmes,\u00a0with Men\u2019s Stylist of the Year. \u201cWhat a crazy event this is!\u201d Wiley exclaimed. \u201cMost people know that I have a stuntman and a makeup artist \u2014\u00a0not that many people know that we have stylists. And to admit [that] is to admit that without them, we wouldn\u2019t be the fashion plates that you see before us \u2014\u00a0decked out in Celine, like I am this evening.\u201d When he accepted, Holmes emotionally thanked his father. <\/p>\n

Carolyn Murphy\u00a0received the Beauty Icon award. Zoe Saldana, via a video message, honored Mara Roszak with the Hair Artist of the Year award. And NBA star Chris Paul presented the inaugural Sports Stylist of the Year award to Courtney Mays \u2014\u00a0who spoke about the emergence of a category melding sports with fashion, and encouraged others to take up space, like she had to as a plus-sized, Black woman.<\/p>\n

Doechii, who honored Music Stylist of the Year Sam Woolf,\u00a0recalled first meeting the stylist \u2014\u00a0and his grace when she asked for an outfit change right as she was walking out the door. And RuPaul closed down the night by presenting Filipino-American fashion designer Zaldy\u00a0with the Lifetime Achievement Award. <\/p>\n

\u201cWe met in 1988 at a club in New York City,\u201d RuPaul said. \u201cWe were that. And all these years later, my friend is still doing it. Everything that I\u2019ve worn on Drag Race, he\u2019s made.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIs this where I am right now \u2014\u00a0am I f*cking Barbra Streisand?\u201d Zeldy said. \u201cHave I even done enough to celebrate a lifetime award?\u201d It made him think about his time in New York as a club kid. \u201cWhere I would meet another club kid, RuPaul,\u201d he corroborated. \u201cHow remarkable it is in our business that we can create however many lifetimes we choose.\u201d<\/p>\n

Moroccanoil, LAGOS, Lavazza, Nicole Miller and DAOU Vineyards presented the event, which also brought out guests from the fashion world, including B. \u00c5kerlund, Nolan Gerard Funk and Tara Rudes Dann.
