John Eastman, the attorney who sought to help overturn the 2020 presidential election, has been disbarred by the California Supreme Court.<\/p>\n

Eastman\u2019s disbarment<\/a> follows the State Bar Court of California\u2019s review department\u2019s 2025 affirmation of the State Bar Court of California\u2019s hearing department\u2019s 2024 findings, which found the attorney responsible for 10 out of 11 charges of \u201cegregious and deceitful conduct\u201d and recommended disbarment, according to an April 15 press release<\/a> issued by the State Bar of California.<\/p>\n

During the 2020 presidential election, Eastman was viewed as one of the architects behind the scheme to pressure then-Vice President Mike Pence to block then-incoming (and now former) President Joe Biden\u2019s Electoral College victory.<\/p>\n

\u201cToday\u2019s California Supreme Court order disbarring John Charles Eastman from the practice of law in California affirms the fundamental principle that attorneys must act with honesty and uphold the rule of law, regardless of the client they represent or the context in which that representation occurs,\u201d said George Cardona, the state bar\u2019s chief trial counsel, in the press release.<\/p>\n
