This is a documentary about Lorne Michaels, the mastermind behind Saturday Night Live. It\u2019s done by Morgan Neville, who gave us one of the best music documentaries ever \u2013 20 Feet From Stardom. They talk to many of the former cast members, and Lorne himself. They didn\u2019t screen the movie for critics, but early reviews haven\u2019t been positive. One of the complaints is that it\u2019s not funny enough. I would\u2019ve liked to see someone ask Lorne why the show isn\u2019t funny anymore.<\/p>\n
NORMAL<\/p>\n
So, the screenwriter of John Wick wrote the action pictures \u201cNobody\u201d starring Bob Odenkirk. Now they\u2019re giving us another one. It has a vibe like John Wick, if it took place in the Hot Fuzz or Fargo universe. Odenkirk plays a sheriff in a small town in Normal, Minnesota. A place where there\u2019s a cute old lady running a yarn store. There\u2019s a guy who owns a hardware store with a nail always dangling from his lips like a cigarette, arguing with an old koot over the prices. Henry Winkler plays the Mayor. And when a bank robbery goes wrong, we realize \u2013 there\u2019s a lot of shady stuff going on in this town. That means there will be lots of shooting and killing. And we feel bad for Odenkirk, who we hear making calls to the wife who recently left him.
